Arsenal have made a serious enquiry for Leandro Paredes of Paris Saint-Germain, but the player is still most likely to move to Juventus.

Romeo Agresti reports that Arsenal have made an enquiry for Leandro Paredes in recent hours, with the news that Mohamed Elneny has picked up an injury.

But the player is currently focusing on a move to Juventus, which makes Arsenal’s pursuit difficult.

Di Marzio confirm that Arsenal have made contact over the potential signing of Paredes, but add that the player wants to respect his agreement with Juventus.

Marco Guidi claims PSG would prefer to send Paredes to Arsenal, despite the player’s desires.

Paredes had already agreed terms with the Serie A club, it’s just a matter of Juventus reaching a deal with PSG. PSG are open to the sale, they just haven’t found an agreement yet.

As things stand, the proposed transfer is a loan with an obligation to buy set at around €15m plus €5m in bonuses.

That certainly sounds like an affordable deal for Arsenal, particularly considering the initial loan spell. But it’s Juventus who lead the race, and the Gunners would have to find a way to turn Paredes’ head.

Paredes made 22 appearances for PSG last season as a few injuries disrupted his campaign. He was usually a starter when fit, but he’s dropped out of the starting lineup this season as he edges towards a transfer.
