Fabio Vieira will become an Arsenal player in the next couple of days.

The move, which came out of nowhere and caught everybody by surprise, first hit the headlines on Thursday.

By Friday, FC Porto had confirmed the deal.

Now, the player has made his first comments since the move became public, promising Arsenal fans that he will ‘work, work’ work”.

“Playing in the Premier League won’t be easy and I promise only to work, work, work,” Vieira told the Mirror.

“My agent worked on the deal between the two clubs and I accepted the deal because it was important for all parties.

“I have always watched the Premier League on TV.”

It’s not clear what shirt number Vieira will get at Arsenal with only a few available in the first XI, but given his number of choice for the past few seasons, that might not cause a problem.
