WhoScored confirmed their Premier League Team of the Week for the most recent round of fixtures on Tuesday morning, with Rob Holding featuring in the lineup.

With an 8.46 rating, Holding was actually WhoScored’s highest-rated defender of the weekend.

WhoScored highlight Holding’s three shot blocks, seven clearances, two tackles, and two interceptions, on top of his first-half goal for Arsenal against West Ham.

With Ben White missing through an injury concern, Sunday’s match was a big one for Holding. Arsenal needed him to be at his best to fill in and help the team to another three points.

As it turned out, Holding was pivotal at both ends as the Gunners took those points home.

Arsenal have four more huge games coming up, and there are no guarantees White will be back in time to feature in them.

Mikel Arteta has only said that the centre-back will be assessed in the coming days, with no clarity over whether he’s expected to be out for long.

Holding may well end up keeping his place for this weekend’s game against Leeds United and beyond, so maintaining this form is important.
