Hector Bellerin is extremely unlikely to return to Arsenal, with Real Betis ready to push for his signature, according to a report.

Arsenal loanee Hector Bellerin will still have a year left on his Gunners deal when his spell with Real Betis ends this summer, but Goal report that a return to North London is extremely unlikely.

Sources claim the right-back has found his love for the game again in Spain. He was unhappy at Arsenal in his final season with the club – though that was less about Arsenal and more about generally needing a change.

Betis have made it clear to Bellerin that they want him to stay permanently, and they believe they can afford him. Though he would need to take a pay cut.

Whilst Goal report there have been no talks between Arsenal and Betis yet, they’ll begin as soon as the season ends.

Betis are confident of a favourable deal, given Bellerin’s short contract and positive relationship with Mikel Arteta.

The Mirror reported last month that Bellerin wants his loan switch to Real Betis to be made permanent.

He’s keen for Arsenal to reach an agreement with Betis, and he’s prepared to accept a wage cut to make it happen.

Bellerin had his first chance to win silverware with Betis in April, facing off against Valencia in the Copa del Rey final.

Bellerin was named in the Real Betis starting lineup, and he quickly rewarded that decision from Manuel Pellegrini by providing an assist in the 11th minute.

After an eventual win on penalties, Bellerin joined his Betis teammates in lifting the trophy. They’re now focusing on trying to achieve a top-four finish in La Liga – sitting fifth and just three points off fourth with four games remaining.
