Crystal Palace are prioritising the transfer of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on a free this summer, according to a report.

The S*n report that Arsenal 22-year-old Eddie Nketiah is Crystal Palace’s top striking target this summer, with the player’s current contract expiring next month.

Palace have made attempts to bring Nketiah in during the last two transfer windows, with Arsenal knocking them back on both occasions.

But this time, Nketiah will be available on a free transfer, and the Gunners can do little to stop him from leaving.

There are other clubs interested in Nketiah, with Palace facing competition from Germany, and the player himself hoping to play Champions League football.

Patrick Vieira’s side are clearly going to make a significant push for the signing though.

Reports suggest Arsenal haven’t yet given up on keeping Nketiah.

The Daily Mail claim that Nketiah’s recent promotion into the starting lineup is likely to lead to one more attempt to convince him to stay beyond the end of his contract this summer.

Nketiah has already turned down various contract offers from Arsenal, as he prioritises playing time.

The striker’s representatives have spent the last few months in talks with overseas clubs, as they’re entitled to do after he entered the final six months of his deal.

Yet breaking into Arsenal’s Premier League team, at last, could help to convince Nketiah to stay. As it stands, he’s planning to wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future.
