Arsenal are likely to make one last attempt to keep Eddie Nketiah at the club after his recent resurgence, according to a report.

The Daily Mail report that Eddie Nketiah’s recent promotion into the starting lineup with Arsenal is likely to lead to one more attempt to convince him to stay beyond the end of his contract this summer.

Nketiah has already turned down various contract offers from Arsenal, as he prioritises playing time. He’s generated plenty of interest from Germany, France, and fellow Premier League sides – including Crystal Palace.

The striker’s representatives have spent the last few months in talks with overseas clubs, as they’re entitled to do after he entered the final six months of his deal.

Breaking into Arsenal’s Premier League team at last could help to convince Nketiah to stay, but he’ll also be aware of all the speculation that the club intend to sign a new striker.

If the likes of Gabriel Jesus end up joining, that could see Nketiah relegated back to the bench.

Nketiah is planning to wait until the end of the season to make a decision on his future, and you’d expect Arsenal to do the same.

Once they know whether or not they’ve made it into the Champions League, they can start finalising their summer plans.
