Arsenal announced last week that Mikel Arteta had signed a new contract until the end of the 2024/25 season so what is the Arsenal manager earning with his new deal?
Mikel Arteta signed an Arsenal contract in 2019 worth around £5m-a-season.
Now, as a measure of the faith the club have in the man who looks like he will guide Arsenal back to the Champions League, they have given him a new contract until 2025.
That deal will reportedly see Arteta earn £25m over the next three years.
That works out as around £8.3m-a-year (or £159kpw in football terms).
Arteta’s wage increase makes him the fifth highest-paid manager in the Premier League behind Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Tottenham’s Antonio Conte and, randomly, Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers.
Guardiola, the highest paid coach in the Premier League, earns £19m-a-year (£365kpw).
