Bukayo Saka is Europe’s top performing youngster, according to the CIES Football Observatory, while Gabriel Martinelli is 14th.

Arsenal fans don’t need anyone to tell them Bukayo Saka is one of he best players around, but now they have the data to back up their assertion from the credible, and reliable, CIES Football Observatory.

Looking at the best 100 players under 21 in the top five European Leagues, they have determined that Saka sits above them all as their king.

Profiling him as an ‘infiltrator creator’, Saka is miles ahead of the next Premier League player (we are ignoring number 2 for obvious reasons), Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, in fifth.

Gabriel Martinelli is ranked 14th but what is, perhaps the most striking thing about the list, is the lack of Premier League players on it.

Saka, who missed out on international duty because of Covid, was back in training ahead of Arsenal’s Monday night match at Crystal Palace.
