Arsenal had been monitoring Tino Livramento for a potential summer move, but his ACL injury has put an end to the prospect.

Southampton FC confirmed on Wednesday morning that Tino Livramento had suffered an ACL injury, and they’re expecting him to remain on the sidelines for the remainder of 2022.

Ryan Taylor reports that Arsenal had been monitoring Livramento’s progress closely, but a summer move is now off the cards.

Arsenal seem to be in the market for another right-back this summer, despite having a few on the books right now.

Takehiro Tomiyasu made an impressive start after signing for the Gunners over the summer, but his injury problems mean Arsenal can’t rely on him alone.

Hector Bellerin is doing well on loan, recently winning the Copa del Rey after providing an assist in the final, but he’ll probably leave.

Cedric Soares has filled in during Tomiyasu’s absence, but there’s a sense that this has hurt Arsenal at times.

Cedric has put in some good performances and deserves credit for stepping up recently, but he can be inconsistent and could be improved upon in the summer window.

Arsenal could still look internally for a solution, with young Brooke Norton-Cuffy impressing on loan at Lincoln City. But they’re also clearly scanning the market, with reports today of interest in Nahuel Molina.

Whichever direction the Gunners choose to go in, it seems they won’t be making a move for Livramento this summer.
