The transfer window might be a few months away but Arsenal are expected to be very busy and reports of players they are trying to land are starting to pick up pace, so let’s look at a few of those named.

Arsenal have apparently been trying to sign Atletico Mineiro youngster, Savinho, although they were going up against Manchester City in the race for his signature.

For a large part of the life of this recent rumour, Arsenal were said to be close to landing the 17-year-old, despite the interest of Pep Guardiola.

Now, however, Goal Brasil report that a €6.5m deal to take the winger to the Etihad is done with another €6m in bonuses.

Jonathan David

Arsenal have been tracking Jonathan David for a while and are believed to be at the head of the pack chasing the 22-year-old striker.

Football.London recently reported that David is one of the centre-forward options Arsenal are looking at ahead of the summer transfer window, along with the more widely reported names like Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calciomercato claim Arsenal are ‘ahead in discussions’ for the young forward, with the Ligue 1 side said to be very happy at the thought of cashing in on him.

Hugo Ekitike

Hugo Ekitike is a new name on the list of players Arsenal are said to be watching.

The centreforward, who can also play on the wing, is just 19 with a value of around £5.4m, although it will take a lot more than that to prise him away from Stade Reims, where he is under contract until 2024.

Around €40m is being mentioned.

Fabián Ruiz

Arsenal were interested in signing midfielder Arthur Melo, a player who was so close to joining the club in January he reportedly had his bags packed.

Juventus, however, changed their mind and when Spurs purchased Rodrigo Bentancur, that put an end to the move.

Arsenal, now, are apparently keen to land Fabián Ruiz from Napoli instead and have allegedly presented a proposal that seems doomed to failure.

Speaking to Club Napoli on Teleclub Italia, journalist Raffaele Auriemma, said, “I believe that Fabián Ruiz will leave Napoli at the end of the season.

“There’s been a proposal from Arsenal, but I understand that the player doesn’t want to join the Gunners. The midfielder is waiting for other offers, be they from Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.”
