Arsenal are reportedly one of the teams interested in Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sport1 reporter Patrick Berger writes that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are all interested in Moussa Diaby.

Though Diaby doesn’t have a release clause, his price tag is believed to be in the region of €60m. Bayer Leverkusen are already looking at replacements, including Carles Perez of AS Roma.

Diaby has 16 goals and nine assists in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season, form which has seen him break into the France national team squad.

The 22-year-old earned his France debut in September, and he provided an assist in one of his cameo appearances in November, before making his first start against Finland.

Diaby is left-footed, but he can play on either wing or even centrally if necessary.

With his strong form and the fact he’s still so young, Diaby could well be a great signing for whichever club brings him in.

The only problem with Arsenal is that they really need a centre-forward, not a winger, and investing €60m in Diaby would hold them back on that front.

This isn’t the first time Arsenal have been linked with the Bayer Leverkusen man. Le10Sport reported in 2020 that Arsenal had an excellent relationship with the player’s agent and had made enquiries about his availability.

Perhaps an Arsenal bid will eventually come to pass, but it would be somewhat surprising if it happened this summer.
