Arsenal are in contact with the representatives of 20-year-old Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, according to reports in France.

Le10Sport report that Arsenal have an excellent relationship with the agent of Moussa Diaby, and they recently used it to enquire about the 20-year-old winger’s availability. Borussia Dortmund are also in the running if Leverkusen decide to sell.

At this point, that seems unlikely. Leverkusen are keen to hold onto the player they only signed in 2019, and it would take €30m or more to convince them otherwise.

Diaby is in great form after slowly working his way into the team this season. The France u21 international didn’t make a single league start until November 23rd, scoring in that game against Freiburg.

A run in the team since then pushed him up to 27 appearances (17 starts), scoring five goals and assisting eight.

It’s worth noting that the timing of this rumour is extremely convenient. Just a day after the left-winger provides two assists in a win over Werder Bremen, suddenly the Arsenal links emerge.

It’s possible the interest was already out there, and it’s only coming to the surface because of that performance. However, it’s just as likely the media are trying to capitalise on the hype from rare live football action.
