David Luiz is still without a club after leaving Arsenal at the end of his contract and one club wasn’t even sure if they should take his agent seriously or not.

David Luiz has been rumoured to be joining a number of clubs.

From Marseille to Benfica to Flamengo, at some point in the summer, he has been on the verge of joining all three.

Still, he has no club.

A report in France claims that the defender’s agent recently offered him to Spezia, a Serie A side from La Spezia in Ligura. Throughout their history, they have mostly played in the third and fourth tiers of Italian football, but won promotion to Serie A at the start of last season, rising five divisions in just 12 years.

Still, with Luiz being linked with much bigger clubs, it’s no wonder they were surprised to get a call from his agent.

The sporting director of Spezia, Riccardo Pecini said, “We have been contacted by an agent for David Luiz. But I did not quite understand if he was speaking seriously or not.”

Luiz’s agent apparently offered the 34-year-old on a two-year contract.
