England’s u21 fixture against Romania was called off this week after two Covid-19 cases, with three Arsenal players in the squad.
Earlier this week, the England u21s had to call off their trip to play Romania on Friday as a precaution, after reporting two positive Covid-19 tests within the camp of players and staff.
The squad remained at St. George’s Park, with the relevant individuals isolated. As things stand, the game against Kosovo at MK Dons on Tuesday is still going ahead, live on Sky Sports for those in the UK.
Three Arsenal players are involved in the camp, with Folarin Balogun, Emile Smith Rowe, and Tyreece John-Jules (currently on loan with Blackpool) all receiving call-ups.
There’s no word on the identity of the two positive tests, and it could be that both were from support staff and we’ll never know. But if any of the Arsenal contingent are mysteriously absent on Tuesday, it won’t take a genius to figure out why.
Arsenal could use some luck on the Covid-19 front, after a whole host of positive tests within the camp over the last few weeks. Fingers crossed Smith Rowe, Balogun, and John-Jules all return safe and healthy after a good game on Tuesday.
