Daniel Ballard has made it into SofaScore’s Championship Team of the Week for his performance in Millwall’s win over Bristol City.

Playing on the right of a back-three for Millwall on Wednesday, Arsenal loanee Daniel Ballard completed the full 90 minutes against Bristol City.

The centre-back made five clearances and three tackles, blocking one shot and winning 12 of his 15 individual duels. He also completed 78% of his passes and won three free-kicks whilst only giving away one.

As a result of those statistics, Ballard made it into SofaScore’s Championship Team of the Week. Just as he did stepping up into League One last season, Ballard has settled impressively into his new test.

Perhaps this shouldn’t surprise us, given Ballard is a full international playing regularly against high-level opposition with Northern Ireland. He’s faced Switzerland, Norway, Austria, and the USA over the last year, among others.

Ballard is in the Northern Ireland squad again this month, set to face Switzerland and Bulgaria in World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Both games are away from home and take place on Saturday, 9th October at 19:45 BST and Tuesday, 12th October at 19:45 BST respectively.

Before that, Ballard will hope to make the Millwall starting lineup again to face Barnsley away on Saturday, 2nd October at 15:00 BST.
