Arsenal have confirmed that Mohamed Elneny picked up a hamstring injury in his left leg during training that will rule him out for two-to-three weeks. Arsenal had informed Egypt of the problem earlier this week.

Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah (both ankle) are fit and available for selection, as is Gabriel who was recovering from a knee injury. Ben White, who was recovering from Covid, is also available.

Granit Xhaka is, of course, suspended for his idiocy against Manchester City.

Although not mentioned in Arsenal’s update, there is a doubt over Albert Sambi Lokonga as well but he has now returned to training.

The midfielder picked up what Robert Martinez described as a ‘discomfort’ in training and although he was reluctant to call it an injury, Lokonga was not included in the last two Belgium squads, the ‘discomfort’ side-lining him for a week, now.

Sead Kolasinac picked up an ankle injury on international duty but has not been included in Arsenal’s latest update. The injury looked to be quite severe at first after a red card challenge on him but updates after the injury had settled were positive. Or negative, depending on your opinion regarding Kolasinac’s availability.

Nicolas Pepe was ill for Arsenal’s game for Manchester City and should also return although he has also been excluded from Arsenal’s update.

Emile Smith Rowe was also a doubt with illness but he was back in training on Friday.
