Tuttomercatoweb write that, although Roma are interested in signing Abraham from Chelsea, the path is complicated as the ‘striker only wants Arsenal.’

Abraham’s fee (£30m+) and wages (£3m-per-year) are also an issue for Roma, according to TMW, so there doesn’t actually seem to be much point in them being involved at this point.

The 23-year-old certainly seems set to leave Chelsea this summer, especially with Romelu Lukaku arriving, and was a boyhood Arsenal fan.

Initial reports claimed that Chelsea wanted £40m which meant a move was a little too expensive for Arsenal. Now, however, Simon Collings, in the Evening Standard, has reported that Chelsea ‘are expected to reduce’ that price tag in a bid to get Arsenal to make more concrete moves.

A couple of weeks ago, reports started to emerge that Arsenal were leading the race to sign Tammy Abraham this summer. The Athletic have since confirmed that Arsenal really are interested in signing Abraham.

Speculation only increased after Abraham netted against the Gunners last weekend but Arsenal are only likely to bring the 23-year-old in if they shift Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Abraham is under contract until 2023 and scored 12 goals, with six assists, in 32 appearances last season, averaging around 48 minutes per game. The forward started just 12 Premier League games.
