Pictures circulating on social media on Thursday purportedly showed Miguel Azeez at Portsmouth’s training ground ahead of a loan move, though it was admittedly difficult to make out whether it really was the Arsenal academy midfielder in the shots.

Football.London report that Azeez has indeed arrived in Portsmouth ahead of a season-long loan, with Arsenal deciding it would be best to go somewhere he’d be guaranteed regular games this season.

Charles Watts also writes that negotiations are indeed taking place between Arsenal and Portsmouth over a loan.

There were reportedly several clubs in the mix for the Arsenal teenager, but Portsmouth have a bit of an edge in the form of their manager Danny Cowley, who previously worked with Emile Smith Rowe at Huddersfield Town.

After that spell went so well for Smith Rowe, who did need a very specific game time plan at the time for fitness reasons, Arsenal are obviously going to be more receptive to Cowley’s offer for Azeez.
