Alexandre Lacazette could be on the way out of Arsenal in the next couple of weeks, but it won’t be to Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano believes that Alexandre Lacazette, rather than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is the Arsenal forward to keep an eye on for a possible exit in the final weeks of the transfer window.

”I would keep an eye out on Lacazette more than Aubameyang, talking about transfers,” Romano said. “Because there is a chance Lacazette will be leaving in the next days, and so let’s see what happens.”

That being said, it doesn’t seem like Barcelona are a possible destination for the Arsenal striker. RAC1 reporter Gerard Romero claims there’s “nothing” in the Lacazette-to-Barcelona story.

Reports from elsewhere on Aubameyang suggest Barcelona aren’t currently looking to invest in anyone. Their current priority is offloading players, given their financial issues.

They do have problems up front to address, with Lionel Messi leaving, Sergio Agüero injured and talk that Martin Braithwaite could be on the way out too. But until they can move players on, they have to put their pursuit of a forward on hold.

Regardless, even if Barcelona do come back to the market for a forward in the latter stages of the window, there’s no evidence it will be for Lacazette. Quite where the Arsenal striker might end up if he does leave remains a mystery.
