Barcelona aren’t looking to sign Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, despite reports he’s been offered to the club.

On Monday night, Sky Sports News reported that Barcelona were interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, with talk of a possible swap deal for Philippe Coutinho. As we know by the Lionel Messi transfer, the club don’t have much cash to splash right now.

But these claims have since been roundly denied. Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto write that Barcelona aren’t currently negotiating for Aubameyang, and the priority is to sell players.

Gerard Romero adds that Aubameyang isn’t an option for Barcelona, but he has been offered to the club – presumably by agents and intermediaries. Barca just don’t have an interest in the signing as things stand.

The apparent final nail in the coffin for the rumour comes from Mundo Deportivo, who report that Coutinho’s camp are denying a potential swap deal with Aubameyang. They claim the possibility is non-existent.

None of the sources are explicitly denying that some party or other has offered Aubameyang out to Barcelona, but it seems pretty clear that the club don’t plan to follow up on that offer.
