The Guardian report that Arsenal haven’t yet lost hope that Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka will both end up remaining with the club, despite being heavily linked with moves away.

In fact, it’s starting to seem like both players could be involved in Arsenal’s opening-day Premier League squad to face Brentford next Friday. To put money on that game, check out this step-by-step tutorial and create Bet365 account straight away.

The Gunners are reportedly preparing to offer Bellerin a new deal, and informed the player’s representatives of as much in the widely-reported-on meeting with Edu earlier this week.

Those initial reports on the meeting suggested Bellerin’s agent would be trying to break the impasse between Inter Milan to try and secure a transfer, but it seems like things didn’t go entirely as expected.

Inter remain interested in Bellerin on an initial loan with an option to buy, but Arsenal will only consider a permanent move or a loan with an obligation. Mikel Arteta’s interest in Lautaro Martinez also makes a swap deal of some kind seem possible.

The net result of all this is that I wouldn’t rule anything out at this stage. It seems entirely possible Bellerin extends, or leaves on loan, or leaves permanently, or leaves in a swap deal. The next few weeks are likely to be pivotal to the next few years of his career.
