Daniele Longo reported on Thursday morning that Hector Bellerin’s agent is in London to try and convince Arsenal to consider a loan with an option to buy, adding that Inter Milan are still on the player’s case.

James Benge then added that the agent was indeed in London for talks with Edu to try and break the impasse between Arsenal and Bellerin’s suitors.

At the very least, the Gunners want a loan with an obligation to buy, but Inter and Atletico Madrid prefer an option. Atletico’s interest in Bellerin also depends on Kieran Trippier leaving.

That seemed likely earlier in the summer, when Manchester United were showing strong interest in the right-back. But United now need to sell before they buy, after spending on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Football.London recently reported that Bellerin is keen on leaving Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners want to receive at least €20m for his sale.

It seems they’re willing to accept receiving that fee as an obligation after a loan spell, which is reasonable enough. But Inter and Atletico are evidently holding out for not having to commit to the deal at all.
