The BBC report that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is attracting the interest of three Premier League clubs in Leicester, Southampton, and Burnley.

Leicester and Southampton were already interested in Maitland-Niles in January, and they’ve reportedly shown their interest again this summer. Meanwhile, Sean Dyche has pushed Burnley into the mix as well.

Maitland-Niles has a deal to 2023, but the BBC claim it is anticipated he’ll leave Arsenal in the current window.

Reports on Tuesday suggested Arsenal could look at a part swap deal to land James Maddison from Leicester, so the Foxes’ interest in Maitland-Niles is good news on that front.

Even if Leicester are unwilling to officially consider a swap deal, purchasing Maitland-Niles would at least raise Arsenal’s funds for a Maddison bid.

Watford have also been linked with Maitland-Niles in the current window, so it seems like there’s plenty of Premier League interest. Given he’s a young homegrown international, that should lead to a decent fee.

For any hoping Maitland-Niles might stay in North London this summer, the outlook is increasingly bleak. It’s starting to feel like just a matter of time until he finds a move now.
