Calciomercato.it reported on Thursday that Arsenal have presented an official offer to Sassuolo for Manuel Locatelli. The bid is reportedly the only formal proposal the club have received so far, and it comes to €40m.

Unfortunately, Alfredo Pedulla reports that Locatelli has chosen to join Juventus, and it’s just a matter of time for the Serie A club to reach an agreement with Sassuolo.

Locatelli is aware of the interest from Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal have pushed the hardest so far, but he wants to wait for Juventus.

For the record, English sources have also denied the existence of an official €40m bid for Locatelli in the first place. Goal report that there have been talks been the two clubs and a move hasn’t been ruled out, but no formal offer.

The Athletic and Sky Sports Italia have also confirmed Arsenal’s interest, from before the Euros even began. We know that the club are looking to add another more experienced midfielder to the mix as well as Albert Sambi Lokonga.

The current interest from Juventus just makes this particular deal very difficult, and it would take the Italian club pulling out for things to get interesting.
