Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is a player they’re following, after selling Achraf Hakimi.

Speaking ahead of their most recent friendly match, Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta responded to the rumours linking the Serie A club with a move for Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.

“Hector Bellerin is a player we’re following but I can’t say more because he’s not our player,” Marotta said, adding that following the sale of Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain they were planning to hold onto the rest of their key players.

Matteo Moretto recently reported that Bellerin had spoken with Arsenal and asked to leave the club. He wants to go to Inter Milan as a priority, but it’s up to the clubs to work on the deal and find the best solution.

Di Marzio add that optimism over a move is increasing after Bellerin’s request, but the structure of the deal remains problematic.

Arsenal are open to a loan with an option to buy which becomes an obligation under certain conditions, but Inter only want a loan with an option that has no strings attached.

For the time being, Bellerin remains with the Arsenal squad. He joined them for the pre-season trip to Scotland, featuring in both friendlies, and unless the situation changes he’ll probably travel to America as well.
