James Benge reports that Robbie Burton is drawing interest from several Championship clubs, including Blackburn Rovers. If he does leave Dinamo Zagreb this summer, then it would be on a loan basis.

Burton, 21, left Arsenal for Zagreb on a permanent deal in 2020. At the time, sources suggested to Daily Cannon the midfielder would be open to a potential return in the future, so there’s little doubt he left the club on good terms.

But for now, the midfielder is trying to build his senior career in Croatia. He made 17 appearances for the Dinamo first team in 2020/21, including a couple as a substitute in the Europa League.

With a long-term contract lasting to 2025, Burton’s current club will hope there’s a lot more to come from him. But a loan move to get him playing a little more regularly might make the most sense this season.

The Championship would be a positive destination for him, allowing him to test himself at a very good level before returning to break into the Dinamo side full time in 2022.
