Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal have offered Reiss Nelson a new contract to 2024, with the intention to send him on loan immediately afterwards. Nelson’s current deal expires next year and he hasn’t accepted the extension yet.

The young winger is considering his options, which include Olympiacos and three English clubs that have made contact with Nelson to sign him.

James Benge previously reported that Nelson was mulling his options over for a move away from Arsenal this summer. Benge claims the 21-year-old has several suitors in the Bundesliga, including teams that finished in the top half last season.

Benge also mentioned the Olympiacos links, which have been the most consistent transfer rumour involving Nelson so far, after first breaking in April.

If Nelson doesn’t extend his contract, you’d imagine he’ll be sold. There’d certainly be little benefit to loaning him, and keeping him at Arsenal for 12 months would also be a bit of a waste of time given the number of appearances he made last season.

Nelson played just once for Arsenal in 2021, and it was on January 9th in the FA Cup. He featured a few times for the u23s and performed well, but it didn’t lead to further integration in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
