Arsenal managed to find a replacement friendly for their planned Florida Cup game on Saturday, facing Millwall at London Colney, reportedly winning 4-1, and they’ll be showing the game at 4pm.

Earlier this week, Arsenal had to cancel their participation in the Florida Cup after a few positive Covid cases in the staff. That meant calling off Saturday’s planned friendly against Inter Milan, and the following match against either Everton or Millonarios.

But the majority of the squad were kept isolated from those that tested positive and have now had a few more days of testing to confirm they’re safe from infection, so Arsenal are planned to hold two replacement friendlies behind closed doors.

According to multiple sources including Arsenal Fixture News, the plan was first to play a friendly against Millwall behind closed doors at London Colney on Saturday, July 24th.

There was obviously a risk that Arsenal wouldn’t be able to find an opponent, given the short notice, but fortunately, it seems Millwall were available. It was a nice early reunion with Daniel Ballard, who is on loan with Millwall from the Gunners.

Unfortunately, the game wasn’t streamed live, given it was at London Colney and behind closed doors. They have the capacity to stream fixtures at their training centre, they just almost never do.

In all honesty, we thought we’d be lucky to even learn the score, let alone get a match report or a highlights package. It seems that Arsenal won the game 4-1 with goals from Chambers, Lacazette, Pepe and Balogun.

There’s no word if Millwall’s ‘1’ was a header from a set-piece but we can find out from 4pm UK time as Arsenal will be showing the match for free on Arsenal player.
