The Mirror report that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to hijack Arsenal’s bid to sign Ben White. With Brighton asking for £50m or more, the Gunners are considering whether they can justify such a sum. If not, PSG are likely to step in.

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly received glowing feedback from Marcelo Bielsa about White, and kept close tabs on the young defender during his time with Bielsa at Leeds United.

Football.London recently reported that Arsenal were preparing to return with a £45m bid for White, after their initial £40m bid was knocked back.

But that may still not be enough. Brighton correspondent Andy Naylor of The Athletic reported on Thursday morning that it will take more than £50m to convince the club to sell, and other major interested parties are lurking – with PSG seemingly among them.

White is currently away with England at Euro 2020, previous reports suggest that he’s aware of Arsenal’s interest and understood to be keen on a move.

Edu has held talks with the player’s representative and emphasised how much they want him to join.
