The Daily Mail report that Arsenal have held positive talks over their move for Brighton’s Ben White. The defender is said to be keen on the move, and his club will sell as long as their valuation is met.

The problem is that their valuation could be as high as £50m. That’s going to be a major investment for Arsenal in a summer where they have a lot of other business to do.

But it’s good to know the player is keen if Arsenal can agree with Brighton.

The Mirror, The Athletic, and the Daily Mail had all already confirmed Arsenal’s interest in White.

The Mail previously claimed Arsenal had held initial exploratory talks over the potential transfer, though The Athletic suggested there had been no club-to-club contact at the time. Perhaps that is set to change now that they have the go-ahead from the player.

Manchester United and Liverpool are also reportedly interested, so it’s not going to be a straightforward transfer.
