A potential Lucas Torreira move from Arsenal to Lazio is becoming complicated by the finances involved, rather predictably.

On Saturday, we covered reports that Lazio are an option for Lucas Torreira this summer, and he is interested in the move. Di Marzio have since confirmed those rumours, writing that Torreira is among Lazio’s options for midfield reinforcements.

But in our report, we highlighted how it seems that Serie A clubs never have the money to meet Arsenal’s valuations of players. As a result, the following update shouldn’t surprise you.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lazio’s interest in Torreira is complicated by the fact Arsenal are asking for €20m to sell him. Romano claims the deal has “no chance” if the price doesn’t change. What a shock.

It’s certainly getting difficult to deny that Lazio really do want to sign the Arsenal midfielder, but if they can’t even consider paying €20m, it seems unlikely the Gunners are going to get a fair price for him.

Torreira is currently away with Uruguay at Copa America. He played 64 minutes of their opening game defeat to Argentina on Friday night, the first of four group stage matches.
