Lyon centre-back Joachim Andersen looks likely to end up at Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal this summer, according to a report.
The Athletic report that sources suggest it looks like Joachim Andersen will end up at Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal this summer. There is also interest from Manchester United and other suitors, but the player is keen to stay in London and the Premier League.
Lyon are open to offers, with a transfer expected to be possible for a fee in the region of €23m. Back in France, sources are reportedly surprised there’s so much interest in him after a season with relegated Fulham.
All the same, the Ligue 1 club are already looking to replace the defender and move on, so it looks like they’re expecting him to leave this summer.
Last month, The Telegraph also reported that Arsenal were interested in Andersen as a potential replacement for David Luiz. But they claimed Spurs were in pole position to make the signing going into the summer.
Andersen made 34 appearances in the last campaign, 31 in the Premier League and three in Ligue 1.
He’s currently preparing for the Euros with Denmark, and he holds an encouraging record of never having seen his team concede a goal in his five senior international appearances. That will obviously be put to the test by his first major international tournament.
