In the revolving door of Arsenal transfer rumours, links to Donny van de Beek are the latest to be shot down by multiple sources.

Over the last few days, a couple of outlets claimed Arsenal had made contact with Manchester United and/or his representatives over a potential transfer for Donny van de Beek.

If you’re into football betting, van de Beek’s first season at United might have you thinking of putting money on the midfielder leaving the club before long. The 24-year-old only made four Premier League starts and four European starts in the entire campaign.

But it seems the Arsenal report is another story without much backing in the mainstream media at this stage.

Fabrizio Romano claims there are no talks between Arsenal, Manchester United, or van de Beek’s agents over a move, with nothing going on as of Monday night. He adds that the Gunners have other priorities.

Meanwhile, Football.London write that despite the links to van de Beek, they understand Arsenal haven’t made an enquiry for the player.

Obviously, that doesn’t completely rule out a move later on. But it does directly contradict the only sources we had that suggested the transfer was a possibility in the first place. For now, it’s probably safe to assume it’s not happening.

Van de Beek only joined Manchester United last summer, and despite a very underwhelming first campaign, they’ll probably want to give him at least one more season to adapt and prove himself.
