According to a report from Italy, Granit Xhaka has asked Arsenal to let him join Roma who don’t want to pay a fair market price for one of the club’s most important players. Whether he has actually asked this or not, we don’t know, but this is a classic ploy from the Italians, through the media, to try and drive a price down.

Marseille are reportedly going to make an offer to Arsenal ‘in the next few hours’ for Matteo Guendouzi, who has reportedly had an agreement with Marseille for a number of weeks. That’s from a report in Italy that was written ‘a few hours’ before I read it.

The Mirror think Arsenal are trying to sell Alexandre Lacazette so they can buy Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva, a player they have been linked with a fair bit recently.

The same publication also claim that Arsenal are inviting offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Over in France, Maxifoot think Arsenal are after Housem Aouar again, preparing a €25m offer for the midfielder.

Eurosport think Arsenal are trying to tempt Aaron Ramsey from Juventus this summer but we probably aren’t.

Elsewhere, Southampton and Watford are said to be keen on Ainsley Maitland-Niles who has made it clear he’s ready to leave Arsenal this summer.

Finally, Jorge Sampaoli has been phoning David Luiz daily to get him to sign for Marseille. Sampaoli is also expected to travel to Brazil where he will meet up with the 35-year-old to present the club’s proposal, including details about a social project to help underprivileged children. Rennes have also become interested recently and have made contact.
