Aaron Ramsey looks like he could actually be leaving Juventus this summer with Crystal Palace and West Ham the only two clubs to have made ‘concrete moves’ for him but a new report now claims Barcelona are also interested.

Ever since Aaron Ramsey joined Juventus, he has been linked with a move away. Generally, Arsenal’s name is in the mix, as it has been this time. All indications, however, seem to point to there being no interest from Arsenal in bringing Ramsey back to the Emirates. For now, at least.

The major stumbling block Juventus have in getting rid of the midfielder they picked up for free from Arsenal in 2019 is the 30-year-old’s €7m-a-year salary. That works out a lot lower than it was originally reported, £115kpw rather than the £400k we’ve heard mentioned before.

Still, £115kpw is a lot for most clubs. Palace currently only have one player earning more than £77kpw, and that’s Wilfried Zaha on £130k. As for West Ham, £115k would make Ramsey their joint top earner along with Andriy Yarmolenko, the only player currently with the Hammers who earns more than £100k.

Barcelona, however, would be a club in the ‘will pay that’ bracket.

Yep, that’s right, Barcelona are being linked with a move for Aaron Ramsey although it seems the source for that rumour is El Gol Digital, so it’s hard to know if there’s any truth in it.

Although Ramsey’s value has dropped to around £12.6m since a high of £40.5m in 2018, his performances so far at Euro 2020 are doing his chances of a good move no harm.

In their Friday edition, Corriere dello Sport reported that Aaron Ramsey is ‘now out of the project’ at Juventus and ‘eager to carve out a new opportunity in England’. Tuttomercatoweb, meanwhile, speculate that he could be the first out the door this summer at Juventus.

A Juventus meeting with Ramsey’s ‘entourage’ is expected shortly to discuss options, including who can afford his salary.

He has two years remaining on his Juventus contract.
