Greek outlet SDNA report that Reiss Nelson will be loaned out by Arsenal this summer. Olympiacos are after him, having been on his case for a long time.

SDNA aren’t the first outlet to claim Olympiacos interest in Nelson. Football.London reported in early April that the Greek club were looking at bringing in the winger on loan this summer. They’ve reportedly been following him since the 2019/20 campaign.

Since that report, James Benge of CBS Sports has also written that Nelson is expecting to leave in the summer, though it wasn’t clear whether that was on loan or a permanent deal.

Nelson has made one first-team appearance in 2021, and it was on January 9th in the FA Cup. The failure to agree a loan move in the summer and in January certainly seems like a mistake in hindsight.

Speaking on Nelson’s minutes, Mikel Arteta claimed there are no issues with him in training, and it was just a case of too much competition. The manager blamed himself for not using the winger more.
