Early on Monday morning, Le10Sport reported that Arsenal had made Eduardo Camavinga their priority signing this summer, and were doing everything they could to position themselves for a move.

The French outlet does not have a strong history for reliability, and Football.London quickly came out to shoot down the claims. Sources close to the player reportedly dismissed the reports as ‘absolute rubbish’.

This isn’t exactly surprising. When we covered the links to Camavinga last month, they all came with the condition that Arsenal would need to secure European football first.

That plan is all but out the window, with only the slim hope of UEFA Europa Conference League football remaining. Even if Arsenal get it, it’s not the kind of prestigious European competition that they’d need to sway one of the continent’s top young talents.

Signing Camavinga was always going to be a long shot, but it definitely doesn’t seem like a deal worth getting your hopes up about now.
