Yaya Sanogo still tracks Arsenal’s results every week, even though it’s approaching four years since he left the club for Toulouse.

Yaya Sanogo spent four seasons with Arsenal earlier in his career, although large portions of that time were on loan to Crystal Palace, Ajax, and Charlton Athletic.

Since then, he’s spent three years with Toulouse, before signing with Huddersfield Town in February. But despite only making 20 appearances for Arsenal (nine starts), Sanogo admits he still checks up on how his old club is doing.

“I still look for their results every week,” Sanogo said. “I don’t know many of the current squad. Most of the ones I played with have left I think.

“I know Hector Bellerin, and then after that, it’s young players like Nketiah and Willock – they were young when I was there.”

Sanogo won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Arsenal, appearing in every round of the cup from the Round-of-16 match against Liverpool to the final against Hull City.

He’s now looking to continue to build his career in England with Huddersfield Town, making five appearances so far this season – though only one start so far.

The striker is yet to score for his new club, but their results are improving. After three defeats in the five games before he joined, they only have one in the five games since. Now he just needs to get off the mark.
