AllNigeriaSoccer report that Joseph Olowu has temporarily joined back up with Arsenal to undergo treatment on an injury he sustained on loan with Wealdstone FC.

The defender moved on loan at the end of the January transfer window, featuring in three consecutive games for Wealdstone immediately afterwards. But he’s now missed the last four through injury, and he’s expected to remain with Arsenal until at least April.

As things stand, Olowu will leave Arsenal at the end of the season. His current loan spell lasts until the end of his contract with the Gunners, and he hasn’t been offered another.

Ideally, he’ll get fit again as soon as possible so he has the chance to make an impression on the pitch and earn a good move this summer.

This is far from the first Arsenal loanee the club have taken back in due to injury lately. He joins a list including Tyreece John-Jules, James Olayinka, Jordi Osei-Tutu, and others. Arsenal’s loan injury list is longer than their actual injury list right now.

Olowu made 31 Premier League 2 appearances for the Arsenal u23s, following his debut all the way back in January 2017. It doesn’t look like that will ever translate to senior appearances, but the club will help him back to fitness to aid his next steps.
