Joseph Olowu completed a loan move to Wealdstone FC at the start of the month which will last until the end of his current Arsenal deal.

Wealdstone’s caretaker manager, Stuart Maynard, handed Joseph Olowu his debut at right-back in a game that saw the Stones named as ‘rank outsiders’.

He won’t get a chance to follow that up with a second appearance this weekend, however, as Wealdstone’s game against Bromley has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Arsenal and Wealdstone FC reached a club-to-club agreement for Joseph Olowu to join the National League side on loan until the end of the season.

All Nigeri Soccer then reported that Joseph Olowu’s Arsenal contract expires in June. As a result, this loan likely means the end of his association with the North London club.

If Olowu had failed to secure a move away, he’d likely have seen out the final months of his deal with the Arsenal u23s.

Olowu made three appearances for the Arsenal u23s this season after returning from his loan spell with Cork City. Cork’s season runs on a calendar-year basis, which is why he returned in November despite spending the year with them.

That loan generally seemed to go pretty well for the 21-year-old, though Cork City’s fortunes as a team were very poor, ending in relegation.

Olowu now hoping to get back out there and playing for the next few months with a view to a summer move as a free agent.
