Fabrizio Romano reports that Dominik Szoboszlai is set for a move to RB Leipzig, after making his decision on a January transfer. It doesn’t look like the fee or personal terms will cause any problems, and the player is on his way to Germany for a medical.

Arsenal were still in the race until very recently. In fact, David Ornstein reported they were still interested in him just this week. However, Romano has been pretty clear in recent days that Szoboszlai is heading for Leipzig.

Szoboszlai himself recently denied he’d already made a final decision on his next club. But Monday was the deadline for the player to inform Salzburg if he plans to leave in January via his release clause, so he couldn’t put it off any longer.

Leipzig now have to pay the €25m clause in full by December 31st. According to a previous report from Sky sources, both clubs want to announce it before Christmas.

TheAFCBell claim Arsenal will continue to follow Szoboszlai’s development going forward, even if he joins Leipzig. It’s only going to get more difficult to land him in the future, though, so this ship may be sailing.
