AFC Bournemouth confirmed on Tuesday that their former loanee Jack Wilshere was training with their first-team squad. They add that the player is “keeping up his fitness levels while he is without a club”.

Jack Wilshere recently confirmed he was leaving West Ham United to become a free agent, in the hope of finding a new club where he could get on the pitch more often. He insisted he was fit to play for much of this year, he just didn’t get a chance.

The Arsenal academy graduate also denies there were any fall-outs with his West Ham teammates or coaches. He just took the decision that he needed to move on for the sake of his career.

Unfortunately, he still hasn’t managed to find the right club just yet. He admitted he would welcome a return to Arsenal, but the Gunners appear to have moved on.

The longer he goes without any senior football, the less likely it is that a good club will take a risk on him. Hence the decision to take part in training with Bournemouth, to keep himself sharp. Perhaps they’ll even offer him a contract themselves if he does well.
