Over the weekend, Harry Clarke made an appearance in the League Two Boxing Day Team of the Week, after an impressive display against Harrogate.

The Arsenal loan centre-back followed that up with another eye-catching performance on Tuesday. Travelling away to Grimsby Town, Clarke helped Oldham keep a clean sheet on a busy night at the back.

Clarke made 13 clearances, three tackles, two interceptions, and blocked one shot. He won 10 of his 15 individual duels and even completed nine of 12 attempted long passes. Once again, WhoScored had him in their League Two Team of the Week.

The 19-year-old’s loan spell is certainly going well so far. He’s up to 15 appearances, starting regularly whenever he’s available.

Oldham Athletic and Arsenal will hold negotiations shortly to decide whether he’ll spend the rest of the season with the club. When he went out on loan in mid-October, he only signed a three-month deal to mid-January.

As things stand, Clarke’s final game with Oldham will be away to Walsall on January 16th. After that, he’ll return to Arsenal or move out on another loan to a different club, unless he agrees to extend his time at Boundary Park.
