Travelling away with the England u20 camp over the international break, Tyreece John-Jules picked up an injury forcing him out of action. Unfortunately, it looks like it also rules him out of the next few games with his loan club Doncaster Rovers.

Rovers boss Darren Moore spoke to the media about the thigh problem, admitting it looks like a few weeks out. John-Jules will return to Arsenal for his recovery.

“We’ve had a little look at Tyreece and we think he’s going to be a few weeks,” Moore said. “That’s the prognosis right now and we’ll see how he develops over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s definitely in the thigh. When he finished a session and finished kicking the ball, he just pulled up a little bit.

“From the England camp, we’ve sent him back to Arsenal because he can get more tests and more hands-on work. It’s the wise thing to do really. He’ll get more of a prognosis there. All being well he’ll be back quickly. We’ll see how it goes.”

John-Jules had a goal and an assist in his first five games for Rovers, even winning goal of the month for September. But this injury brings back memories of his only other loan spell with Lincoln City.

Just like now, John-Jules made a fast start at Lincoln scoring on his home debut, but he picked up a season-ending injury in February, a month after going on loan. It doesn’t seem as bad this time, but it’s another disruption to his development away from Arsenal.

I’m sure Arsenal will do their best to get him back available for Rovers again as soon as possible. Good luck to Tyreece with his recovery.
