They did not finish in the top six last season, but Arsenal are constantly improving. They won the FA Cup last season, which secured them a spot in the Europa League. They also managed to defeat Liverpool in the Community Shield which was a big match for them to win.

In their most recent match, they went up against Sheffield United. It was a good chance for Arsenal to show how much they have grown because the Blades have not performed well this season. They were a top 10 team last season but they have failed to regain their form in the 2020-2021 season of the English top-flight. The team has become more consistent recently and you can read more about Arsenal’s latest matches on certain sites.

The star of the match for Arsenal was definitely Bukayo Saka. The young midfielder had control of the ball most of the match and he did a lot for his squad. He was dishing out pinpoint passes but he also beat some defenders off the dribble. There were some shots on target for Arsenal due to his solid passing.

However, his passing was not the highlight of the game because he was also the one who opened the scoring. He scored in the 61st minute which opened the floodgates for his team. Nicolas Pépé would double the lead, just three minutes later which basically sealed their victory.

The Blades would score a goal in the 84th minute but it was too little, too late. It was a solid match for Arsenal because of their players’ performances but it was also a masterclass from Mikel Arteta. He devised a solid system for the team to follow on both ends of the pitch.

The Spanish manager was full of praise when talking about his young Saka. He said: “Absolutely. It’s been crazy and this is down to all the good work that is being done at Hale End with him, with all the coaches, all the education that he’s been through here and then the type of character and player that he is.”

He also commended Saka’s development at such a young age: “Physically he has evolved. He looks a little bit older. But then how he’s able to read the game, the situation that happens to him, how he resolves the situation, how long it takes to make those decisions.”

On the other flank, Pépé had another solid performance for the team. He was a player who cost a lot of money when he transferred to Arsenal which meant that there were some lofty expectations for him to perform.

Arteta said, “I think it is another step forward for him, he is capable of doing that but he needs to do it with consistency. This is the demand we are going to put on him but I am delighted that he has done it and he helped the team a lot today to get the points.”

It is exciting to see how Arsenal is performing in their recent games. They are finding their form under Arteta’s leadership and they still have solid players up front as well as a burgeoning defence.
