Arsenal posted their latest team news and injury update ahead of the Liverpool League Cup clash on Thursday, with particularly good news on five players.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Cedric Soares are both back in full training after recovering from recent setbacks. Cedric is likely to feature in the squad travelling to Anfield later on Thursday, though Sokratis’ Arsenal future remains uncertain.

Emile Smith Rowe is also “integrating back into training”, though it sounds like he’s not quite ready for match action just yet.

Calum Chambers and Shkodran Mustafi both now have set return dates, aiming to return to full training after the upcoming October international break. Neither will be available for Liverpool or Sheffield United, but they’re getting closer.

There are also no new issues from Monday’s Liverpool match.

Pablo Mari is still on track to return to full training within the next two weeks, whilst Gabriel Martinelli is pushing for a comeback before the end of the year.

Further injuries can strike at any time, as we know. But for now, this means we’ll have a full squad minus Martinelli by the middle of the month. It also means the likes of Mustafi, Chambers and Sokratis are healthy enough to complete moves away, if they wish.
