Italian journalist Alvaro Levrero reports that Torino are offering Arsenal €24m to sign Lucas Torreira on a permanent deal. They’re hoping to take advantage of the fact that Fiorentina are bidding a similar amount but only on a loan with an obligation to buy.

Torino are aware that Arsenal want money now, to push for the potential signings of Thomas Partey and/or Houssem Aouar.

Marco Giampaolo is the current head coach of Torino, but he also managed Torreira when the two of them were at Sampdoria. He’s obviously a major driving force behind the move. Levrero suggests Giampaolo already spoke to Torreira to make his case.

We know the Torino interest in Torreira is genuine. Their club president confirmed as much publicly, though insisted the Arsenal midfielder isn’t their only target.

Francesco Porzio recently reported the Arsenal talks over Torreira with both Torino and Fiorentina. He believes they’ll find an agreement in the coming weeks. But at the time, he suggested those conversations were still ongoing.
