Burton made his debut for the Dinamo first team over the weekend, starting in a 6-0 win over NK Lokomotiva. Despite picking up a first-half yellow card, he completed the full 90 minutes for his new side.

The former Gunner started in defensive midfield, so he didn’t have a major role in the goals. But he did play a key pass in the build-up to the team’s second of the night. He also showed good confidence and discipline despite the pressure of the debut.

Burton signed for Dinamo from Arsenal in February, initially playing for the club’s second team. With coronavirus bringing an early end to the Croatian second division season, however, he only got to play a couple of games in his first few months.

As a result, it’s great to see him involved from the off with the first team in 2020/21. Burton tweeted out that he was “happy” to have made his debut in a “great team performance”.

Dinamo shot up to the top of the table after the first round of fixtures, so they can’t complain about the team performances with the Arsenal academy graduate so far. That may well lead to more chances in the coming weeks.
