Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Arsenal are dropping more hints that they’re now set to announce a contract extension for him imminently.

According to the latest reports on a potential Arsenal contract extension for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the deal is most of the way there now. It’s just the final paperwork and an announcement left.

The fans are hoping for that announcement sooner rather than later, and both player and club are doing a pretty poor job of playing down those expectations. Speaking at the end of his Instagram Live on Thursday, Aubameyang hinted at some ‘great news’ coming.

“Guys, have a good night, enjoy,” Aubameyang said. “And hopefully, great news for everybody.”

Arsenal then posted their first tweet of the day on Friday with a picture of Aubameyang. There’s little chance their focus on the striker is a coincidence, but the question is whether an announcement is imminent or they’re just taking advantage of the hype.

Either way, the supporters are now in a frenzy, as you can see in the replies to that Arsenal tweet. Many of them believe the announcement is imminent and the club are just trolling them, but we’ll see.
