Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sign a new deal with Arsenal this summer, with only the final paperwork and announcement left to come.

ESPN’s James Olley told talkSPORT this week that the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contract extension deal is done, following similar reports in recent days, it’s just a matter of shooting the promotional stuff before the announcement.

Nothing will happen until he returns from holiday later this week, though.

“Aubameyang is done,” Olley said. “My understanding is he’s away on holiday and when he comes back they’ll shoot the promotion stuff.

“I believe that deal is literally they are just waiting to shoot the promo to do the official announcement. I believe that deal is 99 per cent there.”

The Daily Mail also claim Arsenal have an agreement with Aubameyang over a new contract. They say it’s just the formal paperwork waiting for the striker when he returns to pre-season training.

Both reports suggest there are no longer any other obstacles like wages, bonuses, transfer market assurances or contract length to deal with. It’s just a matter of getting back from holiday, signing the paperwork and shooting some promo footage.

But it’s worth noting that this won’t happen in the next few days. Player who took part in the FA Cup final don’t return to training until Saturday, so we’ll have to wait until at least the weekend for an announcement.

Not that this news will stop thousands of fans from spamming the Arsenal social media accounts until then.
